Torah Stone Junior High and High Schools
All Ohr Torah Stone high schools and junior high schools share the same educational and social goals: creating Jewish young adults who are proud of their faith and their observance, who can express their beliefs in an articulate manner, and who are responsible and active citizens of the State of Israel. The schools offer an open environment in which teenagers can develop a love of learning coupled with a desire to question and challenge. Every student is encouraged to think and learn independently, and to develop at his or her own pace academically, religiously and socially.
Side by side with Torah texts, the curricula of these schools include careful attention to the spirit and value system of the Torah. Both in and out of the classroom, students focus on tolerance, respect, and the need and ability to learn from everyone. Many of our young men and women are leaders in local or national youth movements and all volunteer one day each week for work in agriculture or, under the auspices of the Susan Resnick School of Social Work, in helping the aged, disabled or disadvantaged.
Students at the schools receive an outstanding education in the full range of secular studies, exploring communications, art and technology alongside traditional subjects such as mathematics, languages and sciences. All students prepare for Israel's matriculation exams and have thus far achieved great success in these tests.
