AN INVITING OASIS AT NEVEH CHANNAH
A beautiful new island of tranquillity now adjoins the library at the Neveh Channah High School for Girls, thanks to the generosity of Edith Gellman, a special friend of the school from New York City. The Edith Gellman Study Hall, a quiet center for reading, writing, research and personal reflection, is a welcome addition to the Peggy Gellman Library, which was also dedicated by her sister Edith.
"From conceiving the idea of the study hall, through its completion, Ms. Gellman has lovingly shown her devotion to 'her girls' at Neveh Channah," says Miriam Witman, head librarian. "We are most grateful for Ms. Gellman's caring involvement in all aspects of planning the furnishings and lighting, in addition to the beautiful landscaping that the girls see through the windows of this very special room, which increases the library area by 25%."
Edith Gellman's support ensures that the Neveh Channah students remain on the cutting edge of technology with access to the latest audio-visual equipment, computers and scanners. Whitman acknowledges that this, "in conjunction with a steady stream of outstanding books, places a world of knowledge at the students' fingertips and prepares them for success."
