April 2008 -- 11th graders in the Shavei Rachel Drama Track performed their monologues for matriculation examiners and the general public, while Art Track students exhibited their works in a gallery presentation, (click here for photos). "New Directions at The Ann Belsky Moranis School of Arts" - OTS Summer 2007 Newsletter Powerful Performance Chagit Freiman, a 12th grade drama student at the Shavei Rachel High School for Arts and Communications, performed a monologue in December at the third annual forum on Theater in Religious Education, an event in Jerusalem attended by drama students from religious high schools across Israel. In a powerful presentation, Chagit read a child’s monologue from a play called “Dancing with Father,” which depicts a parent’s struggle to accept the limitations of his disabled child. The aspiring actress, who plans to serve as a Sherut Leumi volunteer after graduating from high school, was also selected to perform at a recent convention in Gush Etzion, for educators from more than 40 Israeli municipalities. "Creative Expression of the Spirit" - Fall 2006 "Creativity is Godliness" - Spring 2006 A modern version of "Cinderella" was performed by students in the Ann Belsky Moranis School Theater Arts Program at the Shavei Rachel High School for Girls, while Fine Arts students showcased their works in an art exhibition (March 2006). Seniors in the Theater Arts Program at Shavei Rachel in their final matriculation production - February 2004 The matriculation exam in Drama requires each student to produce and perform a monologue or dialogue. As in past years, students at Shavei Rachel received top marks. Students of the Fine Arts at Shavei Rachel showcased the works they created for their matriculation at an art exhibition in June.
